Recognising and responding to triggers

Triggers can make someone upset and change the way they interact with others in an unhealthy manner, without them always understanding why. Sensory memory can be extremely powerful. When a sensory experience (a smell, tone of voice, a song etc.) connects someone to a traumatic event from their past it can trigger an emotional reaction.

This training will teach you how to help someone appropriately deal with their trigger before the situation escalates. You will learn skills and strategies on how to recognise and respond to a person who has been triggered by a situation.
